Storm Damage Repair in Bromley, Done to Hold
After wind or hail, we climb up, photograph what the storm did and tell you plainly what needs fixing. Then we repair it with the same care as new work: matched shingles, proper nailing and real flashing, not a smear of caulk.

What Storm Repair Covers and When You Need It
When wind, hail or a falling limb hits your home, storm repair means fixing every part of the roof the storm touched. Sometimes that is a few torn shingles. Sometimes it is a dented vent, bent flashing, a cracked ridge and a gutter pulled loose. The job is to find all of it, not just the spot you can see from the yard.
Most storm repairs fail in the small places. A replacement shingle that never seals down. A nail driven high, above the strip. Flashing bent back by hand instead of replaced. We pay attention to those details, because they decide whether your home stays dry next spring.
If the damage is wide, we will tell you. Some roofs are better served by roof replacement, and an honest answer up front saves you paying for a repair twice.
What You Get When We Fix Storm Damage
- Every slope looked over, on camera
- The back side of the house gets the same attention as the front. We take pictures as we go and hand them over, so you can see each problem for yourself.
- Shingle replacement that seals
- We match shingles as closely as we can and nail them in the right zone. In cold weather we hand-seal the tabs, since the factory strip may not bond until it warms up.
- Flashing and vent repair
- Hail dents pipe boots and vent caps, and wind lifts step flashing. We replace damaged pieces rather than patch them with sealant that cracks in a year.
- Decking checks
- Where shingles came off, we look at the wood underneath. Soft or broken decking gets replaced before anything goes over it.
- Gutter and siding damage noted
- Storms rarely stop at the roof. We note dented gutters, loose downspouts and cracked siding so you have the whole picture. Our gutters and siding pages cover that work.
- Cleanup before we leave
- We pick up loose shingle scraps and run a magnet over the yard and driveway for nails.
How to Tell a Storm Hurt Your Roof
Torn scraps on the lawn
If bits of shingle landed in your grass, there are bare spots on the roof. One open gap is enough for water to get to the underlayment.
Creased or lifted tabs
A hard gust can flip a tab up and drop it back in place. That leaves a fold line and pulls the tab loose from its adhesive strip, so the next windy day can rip it away.
Dents on metal
Look at gutters, downspouts and vent caps. Dents there usually mean the shingles took hits too, even if they look fine from the ground.
Granules piling up
A heavy wash of grit out of the downspouts after hail is a sign the shingle surface was knocked loose.
New stains inside
A fresh ceiling spot or damp attic insulation after a storm points to an opening somewhere above.

Last look and tidy-up
Before we pack the truck, we look over each repaired spot, check the lawn and drive for stray nails and share pictures of the finished repair.

What Changes the Cost of Storm Repair
We price a storm job only after we have been on the roof, since no two storms leave the same marks. The estimate breaks out each item, so nothing on the bill is a mystery. If this is your first job with us, you can use this: Limited Time — $50 Off Your First Service Call.
- Spread of the damage
- Torn shingles on a single slope make for a short day. Hits scattered over several slopes mean more material and more hours.
- What is under the shingles
- Wet or broken decking has to be replaced. We can only know once the damaged shingles come off, and we show you before we do that extra work.
- Flashing, vents and pipe boots
- Each damaged piece is replaced, not caulked, so the count of these parts moves the price.
- Pitch and access
- Steep roofs and tight spots near trees or a neighbor's house take more safety setup.
- Shingle matching
- Older or discontinued shingles can be harder to match. We will talk through the closest options with you.
Storm Damage Repair Questions
Something not covered here? (859) 695-6367
Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?
A lot of homeowners start with an inspection so they find out if the storm actually did harm before opening a claim. Ours is free, and you get the photos. When the damage turns out small, a claim may not make sense for you. That decision stays with you.
Will you deal with my adjuster?
We can explain what we found and share our photos so you can show the adjuster. We do not act as your adjuster or decide coverage. We just make sure the damage is clearly shown.
Nothing looks wrong from my driveway. Does that mean the roof is okay?
Not always. A hail strike can soften a shingle without leaving a mark you would notice from below, and a lifted tab often settles back flat. Up close, on each slope, is the only way to know for sure.
Can you match my existing shingles?
Usually close, sometimes not perfect, especially on an older roof that has faded. We bring samples and show you before we install. If a match is not possible, we will explain your options.
Do I need to be home during the repair?
Not for most of it. We work outside, so you only need to be around at the start and for the final walk-through if you want to see the work.
